Colombia has shown its intention to enter the OECD and during this process, it is important to compare its health indicators with the OCDE´s countries, taking in account not only the average results, but the differences according to regions, sex, ethnicity and income. The methodology uses has been based on the OECD framework with a broad view of public health, including health status, non-medical determinants of health, health workforce, health care, quality of care, access to care, health expenditure, ageing and long-term care. The main achievements of Colombia are universal coverage and low out-of-pocket payments. Colombia has some opportunities to show better health indicators due to a younger population, lower rates of diabetes and overweight and a low suicide rate compared with OECD countries.
Eight species of scleractinian corals viz. Acropora azurea Veron, and Wallace 1984 belongs to the family Acroporidae, Favia vietnamensis Veron, 2000 belongs to the family Faviidae, Turbinaria irregularis Bernard, 1896 under the family Dendrophylliidae, Psammocora vaughani Yabe and Sugiyama, 1936 and Coscinaraea wellsi Veron and Pichon, 1980 belong to the family Siderastreidae, Halomitra meierae Veron and Maragos, 2000 under the family Fungiidae, Lobophyllia flabelliformis Veron, 2000 and Mussismilia braziliensis (Verrill, 1867) belong to the Mussidae family are reported as new distributional record to Indian waters from Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This present paper deals with the taxonomical features, occurrence and status evaluation of these eight newly recorded species along with their previous distribution.
This study is conducted to compare the level of perceived service quality, customer satisfaction and behavioral aspects across the various stores in India. Researcher selected seven stores from various organized stores. The selection of the stores is done on the basis of judgemental basis. The seven stores are in the analysis of various outlets like Reliance Fresh, Big Bazaar, Spencer’s, Vishal Mega Mart, Shoppers stop, Westside and Ebony. The customers are chosen on systematic random selection basis. In the analysis of various outlets it is found that 85 respondents from Reliance Fresh, 91 from Big Bazaar, 77 from Spencer’s, 86 from Vishal Mega Mart, 76 from Shoppers stop, 57 from Westside and 68 from Ebony. In this study a sample size of 600 customers is chosen and from which 540 completely filled in questionnaires are received. This gives a response rate of 90%. The statistical analysis was done through descriptive statistics and one way ANOVA. The Retail Service Quality Scale Designed by Dhabolkar, Thorpe and Rentz was used in the study.
This case report discusses a 26 year old patient diagnosed with Type 2 Neurofibromatosis (NF), who has a twin sister. The patient exhibits infantile encephalopathy, mental retardation and type 2 NF, while her twin sister is perfectly healthy and does not exhibit any lesions on the neuroimaging examination.
The essence of development will find its manifestation, its reality and meaning in the extent to which the changing patterns and indicators that we monitor (for example; per capita income, life expectancy, infant mortality, school enrolments and balance of payments) are translated into a real change in the ability of the people to live fuller lives and to have power over their own destinies. As rightly noted by Serageldin (1998), this empowerment includes the power to express themselves to the full richness of their evolving cultural identities….evolving by their own manifest abilities in response to their own wishes and aspirations. The empowerment idea manifests itself at all levels of societal interaction. It is found in giving voice to the disenfranchised; in allowing the weak and the marginalized to have access to the tools and the materials they need to forge their own destinies. In allowing each and every household the possibility of becoming the producers of their own welfare rather than consumers of others’ charity.
This study comes to Use the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach to build shares portfolio in kingdom of Bahrain shares’ market. So that, we want to find out to what extent the Analytical Hierarchy Process approach is helpful taken in the account the importance of the investment decision to the investors as individuals or fund manager. We perform this assessment depending on the information of Bahrain stock market activities’ handbook and some experts who have good experience in financial planning and some colleagues in university who are teaching financial and investment decision courses. The efficiency level in communication among employees and customers forms one of the most important implementations enabling costumer satisfaction.
Understanding the basic relationships between rainfall and runoff is vital for effective management of flood water. The Lawra District of the Upper West Region, the driest region in Ghana, has experienced periodic and devastating flash floods resulting from high intensity short duration rainfall, a characteristic of semi-arid and arid regions. However all these go waste leading to lack of water during the long dry season. Many methodologies have been applied such as using Digital Elevation Model (DEM) for hydrological modelling and watershed delineation. In this work delineated catchment area computed is used in HEC-HMS for flood volume computation. Annual rainfall for 2009 (a flood year) of 1178.38mm (46.393in) gives a runoff of 1.134m (44.652in) and a volume of 36,065,515.893m3. However a volume of 31,313,221.5m3 was obtained for August, September and October (months with heaviest rainfall) alone. Lumped Hydrological modelling with remote sensing data and GIS techniques for flood volume computation is possible using temperature, rainfall and flow rates values.
This short note aims to offer the conceptual approach to the definition of the mean value, with reection to the prewious very interesting attempts with the same goal. The definition is at once simple and powerfull and its advantage are demonstrated with aplications in financial mathematics. The definition of the man value involves the term objective function, which characterize the nature of object, which is taken to average.
Background: Thrombocytopenia is common among intensive care unit (ICU) patients. The percentage declinein platelet count (PPD) rather than the absolute count has been shown tobe a predictor of mortality.Purpose: To determine if changes in platelet count after a severe burn injury can be used as apredictor of outcome. Material & methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study of patients admitted to the BurnsICU between the 1st January 2009 and 31st December 2013. The study included demographic, hematological (platelet count) and microbiological data of patients.
