Today we live in conditions of constant struggle for achieving financial power which enables dominance of the negative power and influence over the lives of others. This leads to destruction of the moral, ethical and other value norms alike, and the life in the organization becomes a place where we are seen through the prism of material asset. A world dominated by financial capital does not know the individual life valuesthe society
Induction of global organ disease has become important with the events related to diabetes in both the developed and developing world. Type 2 diabetes and peripheral organ disease are connected to Type 3 diabetes that involves the brain early in life associated with brain diseases (stroke, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease). The incidence of diabetes has been predicted to increase to 21% by 2050. In various continents the rise in the global diabetes epidemic has been associated with diseases of various organ diseases related to obesity, diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease). Nutritional therapy has become of central importance as early nutritional therapy may delay organ disease and aging
The increased intensity of infrastructural development in Uyo metropolis has given rise to land sites that have larger portions of non – permeable surfaces. A problem caused by little or no drainage and in some cases overloaded drainage infrastructure. This situation combined with the intense rainfall in the city gives rise to flooding in different locations. Flooding being one of the major ways water is introduced into building construction environment raises the cost of building since it impedes the construction and may eventually cause costly damage to the building. This study has identified flood-prone areas in Uyo municipality and has recommended measures to be taken in order to mitigate its effects on buildings.
In present days Technological advancement and its incorporation is becoming a significant role in human life. Now Electrical power is very precious but due to the addition of Inductive load the reactive power is increasing rapidly as a result the industrialization has been affecting the efficiency of the electric power system. To minimize the reactive power consumption the power factor detection system is became a serious issue. The developed module will be an ideal possibility in the upcoming future with minimal cost and flexibility. In this project we have used atmega16 microcontroller, LCD, current sensor, voltage sensor, Bluetooth Module and Android Application. The microcontroller is used to measure the phase voltage and current by using ADC as well as it detect the power factor by measuring the phase difference between voltage and current using delay. The current sensor is used to measure the current respectively voltage sensor for voltage. The LCD is used to show the measured data and the Bluetooth module is to send the data. The android application is used to show the data in smart phone which is specially developed for it. This is a part of smart grid. The ultimate objective of the project is to monitor the consumer end status continuously with minimum cost.
This study demonstrates the adaptation of Unified Theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) to examine the factors that influence the intention to use internet marketing. This is a comparative study which compares the findings from the studies in Delhi and Chandigarh. This study is carried out by a self-administered questionnaire designed using established scales Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Partial Least Square (PLS) were used to analyse the data.
The green marketing is one of the most important strategies which business organizations operate in order to gain consumers confidence on one hand , governments and those who working to protect the environment on the other hand . The survival of an organization in the market depends on its commitment to the standards of environmental protection and consumer from the damage that may arise from its operations .
Construction industry participants have started recognizing that accepting the least price bid does not guarantee maximum value. Achieving a value-based procurement approach is a challenge, particularly for the Pakistani public sector clients, who are limited in their ability to evaluate the competitive bids based solely on the lowest-bid award system. Persisting problems of inferior quality of constructed facilities, high incidence of claims and litigation, and frequent cost and schedule overruns have become the main features of Pakistan’s public construction works contracts.
This study investigated the extent of library utilization by students of veterinary medicine in two federal universities in south-east zone of Nigeria. It sought to find out the library resources required by veterinary medicine students, the library services available for veterinary medicine students and extent of library resource utilization by the veterinary medicine students. A descriptive survey design was used for the study with a population of 1250 undergraduate students of veterinary medicine. Sample size of 250 (20%) of the population was used for the study. The instrument for data collection was structured questionnaire and observation checklist. Percentages, mean scores and frequency tables were used in analyzing the data. The result obtained from the findings revealed that library resources required by the students ranges from newspapers, magazines, current awareness services, journals, online resources related to veterinary medicine to many more. The result also revealed that Library services in both institutions under study are inadequate resulting in student’s apathy to the library.
Background: Although the focus of scientific studies on the beneficial properties of chocolate with a high cocoa content has increased in recent years, studies determining its importance for weight regulation, in particular within the context of a controlled dietary measure, have rarely beenconducted. Methodology: In a study consisting of several weeks, we divided men and women between the ages of 19-67 into three groups. One group was instructed to keep a low-carb diet and to consume an additional daily serving of 42 grams of chocolate with 81% cocoa content (chocolate group). Another group was instructed to follow the same low-carb diet as the chocolate group, but without the chocolate intervention (low-carb group). In addition, we asked a third group to eat at their own discretion, with unrestricted choice of food. At the beginning of the study, all participants received extensive medical advice and were thoroughly briefed on their respective diet.
Inappropriate use of antibiotics can potentially lead to antimicrobial resistance and increase the necessity to use more expensive antibiotics to treat common and life threatening infections. The major goal of this research was to determine antibiotics utilization and their cost among in-patients treated in Ayder Referral Hospital. An institution based cross-sectional study was conducted in medical, gynecology and obstetrics, and surgical wards from September to December, 2012. The prevalence of antibiotics use was 35.5%. Antibiotic therapy was found to be inappropriate in 137 patients (80.6%).
